Some industry events become more useful with distance.
In Q3 2024, AXA Engineers was invited to participate in the Autodesk APAC Panel Discussion. At the time, the team was working through a practical question that would continue well beyond the session: how can technology adoption become repeatable engineering capability rather than remain a collection of software skills?
The panel created an opportunity to share part of that journey—from Civil 3D and internal workflow development to continuous improvement and team learning—with a wider APAC audience.
Looking back from AXANH today, the significance of the moment is not that participation in one event proved a market position. Its value is that the discussion sits within a longer process of capability development that continued afterward.
Historical note
This story reflects an event from the period when our organization operated as AXA Engineers. AXA Engineers is the engineering heritage that built AXANH, the company and brand we continue to develop today.
A regional conversation about technology and capability
The Autodesk APAC Panel Discussion gave AXA Engineers a setting to talk about more than software adoption.
Civil 3D was part of the conversation, but so were the practices around it. The team shared elements of the development journey taking place at the time, including:
- the use of Civil 3D within engineering workflows;
- the development of internal SOPs;
- a Kaizen-based approach to continuous improvement;
- learning from challenges and adjusting working methods over time.
Those subjects matter because engineering technology does not operate on its own. A tool may make new workflows possible, but dependable capability also depends on how people learn, how work is reviewed, how knowledge is retained and how improvements become repeatable.
That was a more useful way to understand the 2024 conversation than treating the invitation itself as an achievement to be amplified.
Why the moment mattered then
For AXA Engineers in 2024, the panel offered a chance to step outside day-to-day project delivery and articulate how several parts of the organization were beginning to connect.
Technology was one part. Process was another. So were learning, quality discipline and the development of people who could use the tools with greater judgment.
This distinction matters.
Buying or using software is relatively visible. Building capability around it is slower and less visible. It requires people to understand not only how a tool works, but where it fits within a workflow, what should be reviewed, what can go wrong and how knowledge can be carried from one project or team to the next.
The panel provided an opportunity to reflect on that relationship and exchange perspectives with others working through their own technology and organizational questions across the APAC region.
What remained after the event
The session itself was temporary. The more consequential question was what continued after it.
Civil 3D capability development continued beyond the 2024 discussion. So did the broader effort to connect technology with structured learning, review, standards and professional development.
Seen in that context, the APAC Panel Discussion is best understood as a checkpoint rather than a destination.
An industry event can create visibility and professional exchange. It can also create a useful moment for an organization to examine its own progress. But the lasting value depends on whether the practices discussed there continue to develop once the event is over.
For AXANH, that is the more meaningful connection between this historical chapter and the capability being built today.
The journey since then
The 2024 APAC discussion sits within a wider Autodesk technology journey. AXA Engineers had previously been invited to share its Civil 3D journey at Autodesk Converge Vietnam in 2023. After the 2024 panel, Civil 3D capability development continued. In 2026, Autodesk and OneCAD joined AXANH’s 10-year celebration, while later learning activities included Autodesk-led training related to the application of ISO 19650 and further Civil 3D capability development. These milestones should not be interpreted as outcomes caused by one another. Together, however, they show continuity in how the organization has approached technology: through learning, assessment, professional exchange and the gradual development of stronger engineering practice.
Looking back with gratitude
We remain grateful to Autodesk APAC for the opportunity AXA Engineers received in 2024 to take part in the discussion and share that chapter of its development.
Looking back from where AXANH is today, the experience is meaningful not simply because the organization was present at an APAC event. Its greater value lies in where it sits within a longer process of learning and capability development.
The company name has evolved. The work of developing people, practice and technology continues.
