Mid-Autumn Festival for the Children at Anh Minh Specialized School was an afternoon filled with joy, as AXANH team members joined the children for lion dancing, activities, gift giving, and especially the “Learning Sign Language Together” activity.
Mid-Autumn Festival is often remembered for lanterns, lion drums, and small gifts. Yet on the afternoon of September 25, what made the gathering especially meaningful were the moments when everyone learned to communicate in a different way — observing more closely, paying attention, and making an effort to understand one another.

On September 25, AXANH team members had the opportunity to celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival with the children at Anh Minh Specialized School through a variety of activities, including lion dancing, interaction, gift giving, and learning sign language together.
Each activity brought its own energy to the afternoon. The sound of lion drums created the familiar excitement of Mid-Autumn Festival. The gifts carried warm wishes for a joyful celebration, while the shared activities gave AXANH team members and the children more opportunities to connect.
“Learning Sign Language Together” – when connection begins with the effort to understand
Communication does not always begin with what we say. Sometimes, it begins with whether we are genuinely willing to understand the person in front of us.
During the “Learning Sign Language Together” activity, AXANH team members joined the children in learning individual signs and exploring a form of communication that may have been unfamiliar to many participants.
It was more than just one activity in the Mid-Autumn Festival program. Learning each sign together created a very tangible experience of attention, patience, and connection.
When everyone makes the effort to observe and understand one another, differences in the way we communicate no longer have to create distance. Instead, they can become a reason to move closer.
